There is likely to be plenty of intervals throughout an interview when there is going to be pauses in discussion or plain silence. This can be started by you or the job interviewer and generally isn’t an indication that something is wrong.
It is possible to request a moment to think of a response and during this time there’s almost certainly going to be total silence. This is fine and completely normal, do not get sidetracked because nobody is speaking, use the time you have requested sensibly and ponder of the most effective response or illustration you can give.
